We are pleased to announce that Johan Visser, Ph.D. Candidate at Leiden University, has been chosen to receive the 2024 AANS Scholarship from a competitive group of applications. Johan's project investigates the challenges of food supply and ecological adaptation in the Dutch Atlantic world in the second quarter of the seventeenth century. He plans to undertake research at the John Carter Brown Library, the New York State Archives, the New York Public Library, and the New Netherland Institute in Albany. We all look forward to hearing about this exciting research project at ICNS 2025 at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
